Writers

To write for Owl Eyes, you don't need to have had experience writing for any publication before - we are always looking for new writers. We do have a team of regular writers who we ask to write on a regular basis. However, if you would just like to write a one-off piece or even a short snippet (i.e. Top Ten...), then we'd love to hear from you. Articles range from between 200 to 800 words on average and deadlines are usually a week after being commissioned. Writers are encouraged to bring their own ideas, as most topics are not assigned. If you would like to write for us, then email Katie at editor@owleyesmagazine.com.

Illustrators and Designers

We place heavy emphasis on excellent design in our magazine and are looking for new illustrators, artists and designers to contribute their artwork to our website, in particular to supplement articles. We also include features throughout the magazine that require Adobe design skills to put together (see our Affordable Tipple of the Week as an example). If you would like to sign up to our illustrator/designers mailing list, then email Lucy at lucy@owleyesmagazine.com.

Event Photographer

This position involves representing Owl Eyes at a whole range of student events throughout the academic year and taking photographs of people at the events for the website. Applicants need to have their own camera, a good eye for photography and a strong sense of creativity. An ability to meet deadlines is essential. To apply for this position, email Claire at events@owleyesmagazine.com with your name, year, any prior experience, commitments you have for the upcoming academic year and three examples of your work.

Photographers

We are currently building a gallery of student photographers' work to feature in the Bon Vivant section of our magazine, as well as looking for specific photographers to take photographs in and around St Andrews to supplement articles. If you would like to join the photographers mailing list, email Lucy at lucy@owleyesmagazine.com.

Bloggers

If you have a blog that you think fits in with the ethos of Owl Eyes, then send us a link to have a look at. We will be featuring the best blogs on our website. Blogs must be updated at least bi-weekly to be included on our site. To link us up to your blog, email Katie at editor@owleyesmagazine.com.
